Good morning, Marketers, are you ready for the next big Google algorithm update? 

OK, don’t panic. You don’t need to make a mad rush to check your analytics. You didn’t miss a new Google search algorithm update (at least not as I’m typing this newsletter). It just so happens that we have passed the four-year anniversary of the first confirmed Google Broad Core Algorithm Update. 

As such, I wrote a lookback to commemorate the occasion: Google Broad Core Algorithm Updates: Everything you need to know. Google has pushed out three core updates per year for the past four years. So it’s likely only a matter of time before we get our first major algorithm update of 2022 (and more to follow). Are you ready? 

Today’s newsletter includes a few useful resources from Search Engine Land. Use them to prepare for whatever Google throws at us next. The quality of your content, its expertise, how your content is presented and how it compares to your competitors are all key areas to look at now. If you haven’t done that in a while, be proactive, not reactive. The first Google update of 2022 is certainly coming for us all.
